The Humming in the Wind
Welcome to the first chapter of our unfolding story. In this quiet corner of the desert, the She Shed listens to the wind, and something inside begins to stir. This is where it all begins…

Lila heard it again.
That low, whispering hum that curled through the backyard like a secret. It wasn’t the wind, not really. It was something older. Something waiting.
She stepped off the porch, barefoot on warm wood, and followed the sound past the garden hose, past the rusted swing, past the place where the grass gave up trying. The air shimmered slightly, like the world was holding its breath.
And there it was.
The She Shed.
She’d seen it before, of course—everyone had. Just a wooden box with peeling paint and a crooked roof. But today, it looked different. Ivy curled around the doorframe like it was reaching for her. A faint glow pulsed from a symbol carved into the wood.
Lila’s heart thumped once, hard.
She stepped closer.
“Would you follow the sound?”
